St Annes Church Oldland Common is launching their fundraising appeal with a free recital of popular organ music given by
Dr David Ponsford
His programme will include:
- Bach’s Fantasia in G major
- Liszt Fantasia and Fugue on BACH
- Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D
- Widor’s Toccata from Symphony No 5
– plus other works by Bach and Dandrieu, and some popular hymns
The organ is still playable (with a few quirks), so this is the start of a long journey towards restoration.
The cost appears huge, but we’ve got to start somewhere!
